It’s Story Time Saturday! Today, I’m talking about a friendship that almost became a relationship, but didn’t quite make it.
It started with something we both had in common. Bet you can’t guess what it was. 😂
Music! Bruhhh. I had just started getting into it, but somehow it brought us together. We totally hit it off. How friendship works is honestly something I can’t explain. I don’t know about you, but for me? It’s never planned. These things just happen.
I don’t usually reminisce unless it’s over,or it was something sweet.
Back then, we were in the paper era. You know… expressing your feelings through actual notes. 😭 Looking back now, I’m lowkey embarrassed.
Like… what happened to your mouth, boy?! 😭😂 But I guess that was our thing. I remember messaging him with my mum’s phone like, “You can’t call me.”
Everyone had that stage, yeah?
Anyway! How did we even get to the paper part? I literally just wanted to borrow his book to read over the weekend. I mean, we read together! But he got so defensive and wouldn’t lend me the book, knowing full well he couldn’t hide from me. 😌
Curiosity kills the cat. It didn’t kill me, but I am a curious cat. Best not to let me know something’s up.
Unlike in movies where two characters are fighting and end up falling on each other… nah. He threw the book down, and I ran to grab it. Checked everything like, what secret could this guy possibly be hiding?
And then I found it.
Oh boy. Best believe it had love songs in it. A line I’ll never forget from the note:
“See, you distract me, but I’m distracted without you.”
Oh boyyyy. 😂 If you didn’t know the song, you’ll be swept off your feet, totally.
Well, I wasn’t about to give in to the paper thingy. I gave no reaction. Just calmly returned it like the demure lady I am. 😌
I was a boarding student, yeah? So I told this senior colleague and was like ask him about it. I did and the paper era started.😂
Looking back, dude was a coward right?☻
Yes.
I didn’t give him a chance because he was a coward and oh well, I’m just a baby.
