The Love Story Begins
Alright, you guyssss! Let’s get into what you actually came here for. Drumroll, please 🥁—this story I’m about to share! No shades to my past love stories (I love y’all, I really do ❤️), but I have NEVER enjoyed writing one as much as this. Rosemary made it SO easy and fun for me. Even reading her notes had me smiling like a complete fool. Why? Because she’s just that fun to chat with!
Okay, enough about that. Let’s dive in.

Anyway, Rosemary soft-blocked him. Why? Honestly, I have no clue. Women, am I right? 😅 After that, he asked her why, and instead of answering directly, sis decided to speak plenty plenty unnecessary English. 🙄 The gist? They followed each other back, and that was it. What stood out, though, was how calm and unbothered he was about the whole thing. She immediately clocked that about him. Unlike some of you people that can’t handle small banter without exploding—y’all know yourselves. 👀
The Waiting Game
Fast forward, they started talking. Now here’s the crazy thing—it took them THREE YEARS to get together. Yup, three whole years of casual “hi, how are you?” conversations, and nothing more. But they say good things come to those who wait, and clearly, these two are the perfect example.
There was also the issue of distance—he was in Lagos, she was in Ibadan. And if you know, you KNOW long-distance with Lagos men can be a dangerous affair. I would know😒. Rosemary herself admitted to having her suspicions, especially after Steven mentioned going for a church camp meeting where he’d have no network. Sis was like, “Hmm, I hope it’s not a married man I’m chatting with oh.” 😂 Trust issues activated!
Now here’s the sweet part—before they even met, Steven already clocked how brilliant Rosemary was just from their conversations. (A king who notices the brains, love it! 👑) And while he claims she fell in love first, we all know baba was already catching mad feelings. 😏 Meanwhile, Rosemary loved how easy it was to talk to him—zero stress, just vibes.
When they finally met in person? Same energy! Unlike some of us (cough me cough) who’d be shy for the first hour, they clicked immediately. Also, random fun fact—Steven is 6’8! Yes, you read that right. Just thought y’all should know. 👀✨

Now, to the juicy part! This guy, Steven, has some traits that honestly give me “dream man” vibes. My absolute fave? Despite their initial communication issues, he acknowledged it and assured Rosemary he’d open up with time—and he did! Not everyone has the patience for that, but when it’s meant to be, it’ll be. They clearly saw something in each other that made the wait worthwhile. Oh, and here’s the thing—he’s that guy who notices the little things she likes and makes sure to get them for her. I mean, swoon, right? 🥰
Now, about the “I love you” moment. Rosemary said it first (ladies, we’re bold like that 💅🏽), but let’s agree—Steven fell first. Sorry, Steven, it’s a woman’s world! 😏 PS: He still reminds her about it. MEN!
The Proposal (Not what you expected)
And the proposal? Oh, you’re not ready for this. It wasn’t your classic on-one-knee fairy tale—it was over the phone! 😂 Yep, on January 1st, 2023, he casually said, “We need to take this relationship to the next level.” Who does that?! Well, clearly Steven does. 😅 To be fair, he later did the whole kneeling thing privately, but the initial proposal was so them—unexpected and sweet. Rosemary didn’t see it coming but absolutely loved it. The girl was blushing like someone whose life was just made and she was rolling on her bed throughout the night😂. 🥹💃🏽
Fast forward four years together and two years married, and these lovebirds are still going strong. I’m counting down to your ten-year anniversary because you two are just too cute. 🥂💍
